I found Travis while attempting to learn to draw on my iPad. I had written my first children’s book and wanted to illustrate it, too. However, after watching Travis’ videos and looking more into his work I decided to reach out for a consultation. To be cautious, I contacted a few other illustrators; however after speaking with all, I was drawn back to Travis. His personality; the ease of communication and frankly, his skills. Before taking a penny from me, he provided me with his pricing guide and walked me through his pricing scales and how each image fits where. After going through a conceptual layout, he graciously worked with me to fine-tune pricing and guide me to where I get what I want, not what he wants to charge me.
To get started, I sent Travis a few photos of my subject matter along with a description of what I had in mind. I had hoped for the best and expected the unknown. What I received made my cry tears of joy. First shot.. Travis NAILED IT! Not only does Travis illustrate well, he LISTENS. Throughout the entire process, Travis heard me, worked to understand what I wanted, and delivered. Working with him was exciting as every few days I would see new illustrations in the private viewing area and I was able to give feedback and make updates. I’ve always believed that you get what you pay for. I found that Travis’ quote for my job was incredibly reasonable; and I am quite happy with his work. I will be finishing my book series, in time, and looking forward to continuing my work with Travis.
